Bjam Records...The Lowdown

Paul Boeger, along with co-owners and founders Harry Stefanyszyn and Carl Selzer, served as the president of Bjam Records, an independent label based in St. Louis, Missouri, during the 1990s.

The label released several notable albums, including "Great Dream by The Geyer Street Sheiks, which was Bjam's inaugural release in 1993

The label continued to produce albums such as "It's Hoo Doo Time" by The Hoo Doo Cats, "Far As The Wind Blows" by Belle Starr, "What's That Smell? Live At The Venice Cafe" by Funkabilly, "Rethink Rubbish" by FulmAr, and a compilation titled "Out Of The Gate Again-Sixteen More From The Grain Belt," featuring various St. Louis area bands.

Bjam remained active until ceasing operations 2006. While the label no longer distributes music, some of its titles may still be found through used CD outlets or digital downloads.

Notably, Alice Spencer, the lead vocalist of the St. Louis band Three Merry Widows, joined the Geyer Street Sheiks after her initial band's dissolution. The Geyer Street Sheiks released "Great Dream" in 1994 under Bjam Records. Alice continues to perform and now lives in Austin Texas.

Additionally, Lynne Reif, a vocalist and multi-instrumentalist from St. Louis, has been part of groups such as Belle Starr, Salt Of The Earth, and The Stonecutters.

Musician Angelo Ranzini was involved with groups like Go Dog Go and Funkabilly, the latter releasing "What's That Smell? Live At The Venice Cafe" through Bjam Records.

Chris Grabau, a songwriter and multi-instrumentalist from St. Louis, has been active since the 1990s, writing, performing, and recording music. He was a member of the band Cheyenne Social Club, which played folk-country music.

Mike Martin, owner and operator of The Broom Factory Studios in St. Louis since the early 1990s, has been involved in the local music scene.
